This important report on oil depletion by the UK Energy Research Centre argues that Peak Oil is likely to occur by 2030, although there is a real risk that this event could occur before 2020.  The policy implications of the loss of easily available oil are profound.

Reuters reported an interview with Jan-Peter Onstwedder, formerly BP's most senior risk manager, in which Onstwedder said that the oil, gas and coal reserves already known contain more CO2 than mankind can safely burn.
